Procrastination

We have all times in our lives where we have procrastinated.  Some of us more than others.  The problem is, every time we procrastinate, we are training ourselves, or creating a habit of procrastination.  Procrastination is a killer when it comes to setting and achieving your goals.  Procrastination is a habit.  One you must break if you want to become successful.  As with any habit you have to work at it to get out of it.  The idea is to take you bad habit, in this case the habit of procrastinating, and replace it with the habit of taking action NOW!

When you know you should do something, the second you question whether or not you should do it, or the second you start to procrastinate, you need to get into the habit of saying out loud:

“DO IT NOW!”   or   “JUST DO IT!”

MAKE YOURSELF DO IT! Make it a physical thing.  Clap your hands together and say “do it now” with conviction. Smack yourself in the chest and say “Just Do It!” (Sorry Nike)  If you say it with enough conviction and make yourself do it and not procrastinate you will break yourself of this killer habit. The more you do this, the better you will get at taking action and eliminating procrastination!

Who is driving your bus?

Who is driving your bus?

I’m not sure where I heard this saying before, but it kind of stuck with me.  So I hope I am not infringing an any copyrights here but I’m going to use it anyway.  Who is driving your bus?  Are you in control of your situation? Are you in control of your emotions?

When a tough situation arises, we have a choice to make.  We can let it bother us, or get us down, or piss us off. Or we can to take a deep breath and let it slide.  If you let someone else control your emotions and how you feel, you are letting someone else drive your bus.  Once something happens, it’s done.  There is nothing you can do about it.  The key is to not let it ruin your day.  What good does it do to fly off the handle at someone or something and dwell on it?  It’s done.  Get over it.  Move on.
